I had the privilege of attending the big P-38 gathering in Sacramento on 11-12 Sep 2010. I took hundreds of photos, which will be posted to this site, along with all my other P-38 photos.  Click here to see a few.

I'm making slow progress transitioning to the new walkaround photo format.  As I do so, the links from the old pages will break.   Please bear with me me.  I expect this to take several months.  Most of the old Glacier Girl photos along with Tangerine photos are now presented in the new format.

ABOUT THIS SITE

I began this project to explore my vision of what the next P-38 might have been had the war continued (the last production variant was 'M,' so the next would have been 'N'). (Click here for a little 'fiction' about the XP-38N). Over the years it evolved into a comprehensive exploration of the Lockheed P-38 'Lightning' through flight simulation.  While the scope of my project expanded to include all P-38 variants, the name still seemed appropriate: X, for eXperimental (experimenting with new techniques to improve realism) and N, representing a next generation of P-38s, a 'virtual' generation, if you will.

I have since retired from developing models for Flight Simulator and have no plans to return to that part of my P-38 hobby.  I appreciate those who have written to me asking me to return and make more models, but I'm that chapter is closed.  My P-38 models are still here; they can be found on the model page.

My P-38 interest is as strong as ever, but now I focus more on P-38 history and photography.  I am shifting the focus of this site the numerous P-38 photos I have taken over the years to help preserve the memory of those who designed, built and flew and maintained this historic aircraft.
